The Buffalo Bills promoted Doug Whaley to assistant general manager/director of player personnel, the team announced.
Whaley, who will report directly to executive vice president/general manager Buddy Nix, heads into his 16th NFL season, having joined the Bills in February of last year as assistant general Manager/director of pro personnel.
In his new responsibilities, Whaley will oversee both the college and pro personnel departments for the Bills. Additionally, he will conduct the team’s meetings leading up to the draft and scout the top players at the collegiate level. He will also assist in advance scouting of Bills opponents on the pro side.
Under the direction of Nix, the Bills are continuing to re-evaluate and reorganize the personnel department.
The team fired vice president of college scouting Tom Modrak earlier this week.
