Browns interview Shurmur, Mularkey and Fewell; sign three players
As expected, the Cleveland Browns interviewed St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur for their vacant head-coaching opening on Friday.
Cleveland's interest in Shurmur comes from two areas.
He runs the West Coast offense, which the Browns want to migrate to next season. He has ties to Browns general manager Tom Heckert, who worked together with Shurmur with the Philadelphia Eagles for many years.
The team is also scheduled to interview Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey on Saturday and New York Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell next week.
In other team news, the Browns signed QB Jarrett Brown, DT Scott Paxson and CB Ramzee Robinson to future contracts. Paxson and Brown worked out for the team during the regular season, a source confirmed.
