The San Diego Chargers signed free-agent LB David Herron. To make room for him on the 53-man roster, they waived OLB Cyril Obiozor.
Herron (6-1, 239) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings in ’07 and played in 10 games for the Kansas City Chiefs last year, making 11 special teams tackles.
Herron has 20 career special teams tackles in 26 NFL games. He made eight tackles on defense for the Vikings in 2008 when he started three games.
While the team didn't announce the move, a source said the Chargers re-signed undrafted free-agent rookie OT Ryan Otterson to their practice squad. He was released last week.
