Colts place starting cornerback on injured reserve
The Indianapolis Colts have placed starting CB Kelvin Hayden on injured reserve, a source confirmed. To replace him on the 53-man roster, the Colts signed OT Joe Reitz off the practice squad.
Hayden missed five straight games due to a neck injury. He’s expected to be replaced in the starting lineup in this evening’s AFC Wild Card game against the visiting New York Jets by backup CB Justin Tryon. The Colts are now down to just four cornerbacks on their roster.
And Reitz could dress for this week’s game since starting ORT Ryan Diem (back-questionable) did not practice this week. Rookie OT Jeff Linkenbach would likely start if Diem couldn't play.
