The Detroit Lions have now worked out 51 players this season, but have just worked out two quarterbacks. Journeyman QBs J.T. O’Sullivan and Josh McCown worked out for the Lions on Monday, a source confirmed.
Detroit has four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster, but starter Matthew Stafford has missed several games due to a right shoulder injury.
In addition to working out the two quarterbacks, the Lions worked out veteran WR Troy Williamson, who was selected in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
The Lions have been looking to improve the depth at receiver, so it shouldn’t come to a surprise that they worked out the speedy Williamson. The Lions, who have worked out seven receivers this season, have worked Williamson out twice.
A source with knowledge of the situation said O'Sullivan and McCown threw to Williamson in the workout.
