Lions Work out Veteran Center-9:42 a.m.
The Detroit Lions, perhaps evaluating the depth on the interior of their offensive line, worked out free-agent C Jake Grove on Wednesday.
However, the Lions are seemingly in good shape at center with starter Dominic Raiola and backup Dylan Gandy.
Grove, who was released by the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 9, has started 56 games in his six-year career. He also worked out for the Baltimore Ravens earlier this month.
Grove, 30, was originally selected in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft.
A source also confirmed the Lions worked out six more players, including G Evan Dietrich-Smith, LBs David Herron and Erik Walden, S DaJuan Morgan and CB Joe Burnett.
