Packers suffer some injuries vs. Bears
The Green Bay Packers were victorious over the host Chicago Bears during Sunday’s NFC Championship game and will advance to the Super Bowl. However, they had some players banged up in the game.
“(Starting OLT) Chad Clifton had a neck stinger. He did return in the second quarter. (Starting WR) Greg Jennings had a bruised knee and missed a few plays. (OLB) Erik Walden had an ankle and did not return,” Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said after the game about the injured players. Walden was starting for rookie OLB Frank Zombo (knee).
Starting QB Aaron Rodgers also got banged up, but will be fine. Rodgers took a pretty good hit from Bears DE Julius Peppers.
“He took a good hit. He’s fine. I was talking to him afterwards and in the locker room. He feels pretty good right now. He’ll be fine. But he took a big hit,” McCarthy said.
