The Cleveland Browns are planning on doing their homework on former Ohio St. QB Terrelle Pryor, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.

Pryor is expected to make himself available for the NFL Supplemental Draft, which is expected to take place in July.

The Browns already have four quarterbacks under contract, but veteran QB Jake Delhomme, who is listed with a $5.4 million base salary for 2011, could be released or asked to take a significant paycut.

Second-year QB Colt McCoy will enter training camp as the starter.

Elsewhere, 2010 second-round pick RB Montario Hardesty (knee) is making good progress after missing all of his rookie season due to a torn ACL.

"To the best of my knowledge, he's progressing well and will be ready to participate (fully) once training camp starts," Browns head coach Pat Shurmur told the paper. "That's my understanding. We'll see when we finally get to training camp.''

If Hardesty has a strong training camp and preseason, he could help lessen the load for RB/FB Peyton Hillis once the regular season starts.
