Source: Seahawks cut veteran tight end
The Seattle Seahawks have released veteran TE Chris Baker. A source confirmed that Baker failed the team physical.
Baker, who signed a two-year, $4.75 million deal last March, carried a base salary of $1.5 million for 2011 and was due a $500,000 roster bonus.
Baker (hip) was placed on injured reserve on Jan. 5. He started 13 out of 16 regular season games for the Seahawks.
Even with Baker gone, the team still has five tight ends on their 80-man roster.
