Source: Steelers re-sign several players
Just like the Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers did earlier this week, the Pittsburgh Steelers started to re-sign some of their practice squad players.
The team re-signed WR Tyler Grisham; TE Eugene Bright; K Swayze Waters; OT Kyle Jolly; LB Chris Ellis; and LB Chris McCoy to their offseason (80-man) roster. The team did not announce the signings, but a source confirmed the moves were turned in to the NFL's personnel office on Wednesday afternoon.
Grisham, Bright, Jolly and Ellis all spent time on Pittsburgh’s practice squad last season. Waters was waived by the Oakland Raiders early during the regular season and did not sign with another team. McCoy ended last season on the Houston Texans practice squad.
Practice squad players FB Frank Summers, DT Sunny Harris and S Da-mon Cromartie-Smith have yet to re-sign. The team has an exclusive seven-day negotiating window with those players which began on Monday.
