Sparano gets contract extended; team re-signs WR
It sure seemed that Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano was headed to the unemployment line just a few days ago. But after the team’s interest in Stanford University head coach Jim Harbaugh waned, Sparano’s job became more secure. Harbaugh wound up leaving Stanford to become the San Francisco 49ers head coach
According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Sparano agreed to a two –year contract extension through 2013. The extension will give him an expanded role in personnel decisions and maintains final say in choosing his coaching staff.
In other team news, the Dolphins signed WR Brooks Foster to a future contract. He was on their practice squad for most of the regular season.
