Rams continue to evaluate roster
The St. Louis Rams, who have been dealing with injuries on the interior of their defensive line, worked out three defensive linemen earlier this week, a source confirmed.
DT Jay Alford, who played for Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo when Spagnuolo was defensive coordinator for the New York Giants, got a look. Alford also has worked out for the Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers this season.
Marques Douglas, who is capable of playing end or tackle, worked out for the Rams on Wednesday. Douglas, however, has played most of his career in a 3-4 defensive scheme. The Rams use a 4-3.
DT Montavious Stanley, who spent time with the Miami Dolphins in the preseason, also worked out for the Rams.
The Rams recently lost key backup DT Cliff Ryan (migraines) for the season, so depth continues to be an issue at that position.
