Saints Lose Veteran Cornerback
The New Orleans Saints, who already had depth issues at cornerback, have placed veteran CB Randall Gay (head) on injured reserve.
To replace him on the 53-man roster, the team signed free-agent CB Quincy Butler.
Gay, 28, missed the past two games because of his injury. Starting CB Tracy Porter (knee) is expected to miss his third straight game Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. And the other starting cornerback, Jabari Greer (shoulder), did not practice Wednesday.
Out of the five cornerbacks the Saints have on the 53-man roster, only three of them are healthy.
