Vikings' Favre inactive vs. Eagles
The Minnesota Vikings will not have starting QB Brett Favre (concussion, neck, right shoulder) for this evening’s game against the host Philadelphia Eagles.
Favre will be replaced by rookie QB/WR Joe Webb. Favre did not dress for the game since he was not medically cleared to play. Journeyman QB Patrick Ramsey will back up Webb. QB Rhett Bomar, who the Vikings signed off of the New York Giants practice squad recently, is the inactive third quarterback.
Also out of note for the Vikings are Ss Tyrell Johnson (knee) and Madieu Williams (concussion).
Backup S Jamarca Sanford (concussion-probable) will start for Williams.
The good news for the Vikings is that starting RB Adrian Peterson (knee-questionable) will be in the lineup. Expect the Vikings to go with a heavy dose of Peterson in this game in order to take the pressure off of Webb.
