Report: Wisconsin Basketball Transfer Seeking $1 Million NIL Deal

At present, Wisconsin basketball transfer AJ Storr finds himself at a crossroads with several crucial decisions to consider. While testing the NBA Draft waters, the all-conference wing has also opted to enter the transfer portal, ensuring he keeps his options open.

Either way, Storr is about to secure the bag.

Chas Wolfe of Prep Scouting reported that Storr requested a NIL deal worth $1 million from Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks. However, the Jayhawks offered a take-it-or-leave-it deal of $750,000, which Storr’s representatives declined.

Per a close source, AJ Storr asked Kansas for $1,000,000. The Jayhawks countered with $750,000 take it or leave it offer.

Should Storr return to college for another season to continue improving his draft stock, there will be plenty of suitors vying for his services. Right now, the 6-foot-7 small forward has a crystal ball in place for him to land with the Illinois Fighting Illini. But he’s also been linked to a number of other heavy hitters — the latest being Kentucky.

During his lone season with the Wisconsin basketball program, Storr emerged as a key player for the Badgers. He averaged 16.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game with a 29.7% usage rating per T-Rank. Impressively, Storr tallied double-digit points in 34 out of 36 games played.

When it comes to the Wisconsin basketball program, let me assure you that the Badgers have the necessary resources through NIL to contend for Storr’s talents while retaining other core contributors. However, one could argue that investing such a significant amount of money in one player may not be the most financially prudent approach to achieving the best possible product on the court next season.

Greg Gard will bring back a nucleus of Chucky Hepburn, Max Klesmit, Steven Crowl, and John Blackwell to build around. Perhaps bringing in two impactful transfers like Frankie Fidler and an experienced forward to fill Tyler Wahl’s role could make the team more well-rounded.

Time will tell because all things related to the transfer portal remain fluid, but Storr gave the Wisconsin basketball team a great season regardless of what happens next. The pairing proved mutually beneficial. Go get them checks.
