No. 1 LSU shakes off loss, demolishes Queens

Angel Reese scored 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as No. 1 LSU rebounded from a season-opening loss to smash Queens University 112-55 on Thursday in its home opener at Baton Rouge, La.

The reigning NCAA Tournament champion Tigers (1-1) fell 92-78 to No. 20 Colorado on Monday in Las Vegas.

Sa'Myah Smith added 21 points and eight rebounds for LSU on Thursday, while Aneesah Morrow scored 16 points off the bench and Flau'jae Johnson compiled 13 points, six rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots.

The Tigers outshot the Royals 63.6 percent to 32.3 percent and had a 49-21 rebounding advantage.

Nicole Gwynn was the lone double-figure scorer for Queens, finishing with 26 points.

LSU led by 13 points after one quarter, by 26 at halftime and by 36 after three periods.
