Week 8 may be the week everything tore apart. There were Tennessee players flipping off Alabama fans despite being down big, Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher getting into it with his own fans and several schools that had championship hopes at the beginning of the season frustratingly watching it tossed aside in front of a national audience.
Yes, the networks couldn't have been thrilled with what happened Saturday night. In the Kansas-TCU game, the Horned Frogs won 43-0 in a game so dominant both coaches agreed to a running clock in the fourth quarter just to get it over with. Notre Dame's 49-14 spanking of USC turned one of the nation's biggest rivalries into a laughingstock. Then the Michigan-Penn State showdown wasn't competitive at all (Penn State won 42-13).
Yes, the most talked about moments of the week have been frustrated coaches and players at their breaking point.
This week looks to be different. We start off with Penn State-Ohio State. Add a little dash of Oklahoma State-West Virginia, a pinch of N.C. State-Notre Dame and the usually entertaining Georgia-Florida game in Jacksonville. There's also some surprisingly interesting games like TCU-Iowa State and Georgia Tech-Clemson. Hopefully these games result in some thrilling football on the weekend before Halloween.
So let's look at some players who will be key to making this week a frighteningly better slate of games to have on while you are getting ready for those costume parties.
