SEATTLE, — Former Arizona State football offensive coordinator Zak Hill is on the move… again. Hill was the offensive coordinator with the Sun Devils from 2020-2021 in the Herm Edwards era. He also served as the quarterbacks coach at the time, coaching future Heisman winner Jayden Daniels.

Hill was one of several assistants forced out of college football after Arizona State football’s recruiting allegations surfaced. Following his short tenure in Tempe, Hill turned to the high school game. The former college coach took the reigns over one of the Valley’s most successful programs in the Saguaro Sabercats. Hill served as Saguaro’s head coach for two seasons and led them to a 6A State Championship this past season.

Now the 44-year-old is on the move again.

Former Arizona State football offensive coordinator relocates

Hill announced he was leaving Saguaro via a social media announcement on Feb. 12.

“It has been a pleasure to be your Head Football Coach,” Hill wrote. “And I appreciate all the friendships and support through this last year! I’m proud of our players and coaches for all the hard work and dedication they put in to make this last year a successful one and finish with a 6A State Championship!”

Hill concluded his statement acknowledging that his stay at Saguaro will be one he remembers forever.

At the time of this announcement Hill reportedly had accepted the Athletic Director position at ALA Gilbert North. However, he will no longer fill that position as he’s heading to Seattle to join the Seahawks organization.

Just six days after Hill announced he was leaving Saguaro, reports broke about his new position with the Seahawks. The former Sun Devil staffer will be an offensive/quality control assistant.

It will be interesting to see if Hill’s new position in Seattle will at all impact Jayden Daniels’ draft position as the former Sun Devil and reigning Heisman Trophy Winner will be one of the top quarterbacks drafted according to several projections.
