Despite feeling secure with the current state of the quarterback position with Garrett Greene and Nicco Marchiol, the WVU football staff also always has their eyes on the future. In an effort to pursue one of the top quarterback prospects in the country, West Virginia sent an offer to 2026 four-star Will Griffin on Friday night.

Griffin thanked WVU quarterbacks coach Tyler Allen while adding the West Virginia offer to his long list. Listed at 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, Griffin has already earned four stars from several major national recruiting outlets. He’s ranked among the top Florida quarterbacks in his class by On3 Sports and Rivals and at No. 26 by 247 Sports.

A Tampa, Fla. native, Griffin attends Jesuit High School as a three-year starter. He threw for 3,404 yards with 34 touchdown passes during the 2023 season.

Griffin has garnered interest from big brand programs like Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Michigan, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Pitt, South Carolina, TCU, Texas A&M and many others.

He’s also visited schools like Oklahoma, Texas, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin just to name a few.
