Atlanta Braves Roster Moves 3/14

The Atlanta Braves right now are taking on the Tampa Bay Rays in Venice, FL. Chris Sale is on the mound making his fourth start for the Braves. Entering today in his first three starts he is 0-1 with a 3.24 ERA, a 1.20 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts in 8.1 innings. The Braves today added a bat to their lineup as they signed Adam Duvall to a one-year deal for a $3 million deal. Duvall had been linked to the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels but ultimately he decided to sign with the Braves a team he spent five seasons of his career.

Adam Duvall By The Numbers

Duvall started his career with the San Francisco Giants before being traded to the Cincinnati Reds. In July of 2018, the Reds traded him to the Braves where he spent 2.5 seasons before ending up with the Miami Marlins in 2021 he was then traded back to the Braves and he spent the next 1.5 seasons there before signing with the Red Sox for the 2023 season. With the Braves in his career, he has played in 272 games and hit .224 with a .749 OPS; he had 36 doubles, three triples, 54 home runs, 133 RBI, 124 runs scored, and 60 walks. With the Red Sox in 2023, he hit .247 with a .834 OPS; he had 24 doubles, two triples, 21 home runs 58 RBI, 45 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 22 walks in 92 games. For his career in 922 games, he hit .232 with a .763 OPS; he has 161 doubles, 15 triples, 184 home runs, 536 RBI, 427 runs scored, 22 stolen bases, and 226 walks. It remains to be seen how Duvall will fit in, potentially as a DH or an outfield piece that can move around and give guys days off.
