Bryn Alderson Out as New York Mets Assistant GM
USA TODAY Sports

More changes in the front office.

According to SNY's Andy Martino, longtime executive Bryn Alderson is out as assistant general manager of the Mets and will be leaving the organization.

This move comes just days after the Mets named former star center fielder Carlos Beltran as a special assistant to GM Billy Eppler.

Alderson, the son of former team president and GM Sandy Alderson, joined the Mets in 2011 as a pro scout. Alderson became the Mets' pro scouting director in 2019, before being promoted to assistant GM under Zack Scott back in 2021.

Since being hired as GM in November of 2021, Eppler has slowly brought in his own people in the front office, hiring Jonathan Strangio as vice president of baseball operations, Nate Horowitz as senior director of player personnel, Nick Spar as director of baseball operations, Steve Martone as a special assistant, and last but not least Elizabeth Benn as director of major league operations.
