Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Dalton Rushing was named the Los Angeles Dodgers’ top prospect heading into the 2024 season on Baseball Prospectus’ Top 101 prospects list.

Coming in at No. 36, Rushing is accompanied by Josue De Paula (No. 48), Nick Frasso (No. 67) and Thayron Liranzo (No. 70).

Rushing has shot up prospect boards this past year, becoming the top backstop option in the organization. He spent the entire 2023 season in High-A with the Great Lakes Loons, posting a .228/.404/.452 slash with 18 doubles, 15 home runs and 53 RBI in 89 games.

The Dodgers’ top pick in the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft, he’s developed into one of the best power bats in the organization.

De Paula debuted with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in 2023, showing a ton of upside with a .284/.396/.768 line. The 18-year-old tallied 14 stolen bases, and 40 RBI with a 118 wRC+ across 282 at-bats.

He’s appeared on a number of prospect boards, showing an incredible amount of plate discipline with 46 walks in 74 games.

Frasso went 4-6 over 25 starts between the Tulsa Drillers and Oklahoma City Dodgers at Triple-A with a 3.77 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 10.4 strikeouts per nine. In 93 innings pitched, the right-hander has developed into a big arm in the system.

Thayron Liranzo joined the Dodgers in 2021, signing out of the Dominican Republic. He followed in the line of elite catchers within the farm system that are both physically imposing with the skills to match.

The 20-year-old carried a .272/.400/.562 slash in 94 games with the Quakes at Single-A in 2023. He shot up prospect boards with his 24 doubles, 24 home runs, 70 RBI and 70 walks in 94 games, rivaling Rushing in the pure power department.
