Giants Fans Remember A Historic Night From Matt Cain

Yesterday, the San Francisco Giants welcomed back a legend to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

The legend in question was Matt Cain, who was a key part of the Giants’ three World Series championship squads in 2010, 2012, and 2014, respectfully.

Cain had more than his fair share of great moments in a Giants uniform, having played his entire career in San Francisco.

Not only that, but he even threw a perfect game against the Houston Astros in 2012.

And today is the 10th anniversary of Cain’s perfect game.

The Giants tweeted a video of Cain completing the game earlier this morning to celebrate his accomplishment.

Cain’s Perfection

The Giants are one of those teams with a lot of great history, and Cain is certainly a key part of that history.

That perfect game was one of his best moments.

Cain was one of the many aces of the Giants pitching staff, next to Tim Lincecum and Madison Bumgarner.

He was the guy that led the way for San Francisco during their 2012 run, where they overcome imposing deficits in both the NLDS and the NLCS on their way to a title.

He was around for a long time and never disappointed.

He was a fierce competitor who knew what it took to win ballgames and always grinded it out until the very last pitch.

Today, the Giants honor that fierce competitor who won three rings with them and gave them so many memorable moments on the 10-year anniversary of that dominant start against the Houston Astros.

Cain was loved in San Francisco, and he always will be.

He gave the fans so many great memories, including that perfect game, and the fans will always appreciate that.
