After a 2-4 start to the homestand, the Los Angeles Dodgers welcome the New York Mets to town for a three-game weekend series.

Despite their recent skid, the Dodgers enter play with a 12-9 record and one-game lead over the second-place San Diego Padres in the National League West. The Mets, at 10-8, are third in the NL East.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto makes his fifth start of the season and looks for continued success. He took a no-decision in his last outing against the Padres after allowing three runs on four hits over five innings of work.

Since his rough MLB debut in South Korea, Yamamoto is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 19 strikeouts over his last 15 innings pitched.

Yamamoto again is starting with six days of rest, which is a plan the Dodgers intend to keep him on as the right-hander adjusts to an MLB schedule.

The Mets counter with Sean Manaea, who is coming off one of the worst starts of his career. He gave up nine hits and eight runs (six earned) in just 3.2 innings against the Kansas City Royals.

The left-hander owns a 1-1 record with a 4.30 ERA, 3.47 FIP, 1.36 WHIP and 11 strikeouts per nine in 14.2 innings pitched this season (three starts).

Manaea, who spent the previous two seasons in the NL West as a member of the Padres and San Francisco Giants, is 1-5 with a 7.50 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 10 career games (seven starts) against the Dodgers.

Manaea faces a Dodgers lineup that again includes Andy Pages. The Dodgers prospect is making his third start in as many games since getting recalled for his MLB debut.

Chris Taylor is also getting an opportunity to start against the southpaw as he tries to overcome a horrendous start to the season.
