MLB K-props: Don't whiff on these strikeout wagers

We went 1-1 with one rainout on our three strikeout bets for Wednesday's MLB slate, keeping our record at .500 for the week. We're looking to make a move back into the green, starting with our two favorite K props on Thursday.

Pablo Lopez under 5.5 Ks (+115 DraftKings)

Pablo Lopez looked great in his 2024 debut with seven strikeouts and just one earned run against the Kansas City Royals, but this is a much tougher matchup for him. The Minnesota Twins right-hander has struggled against current Cleveland Guardians in his career, giving up a .375 batting average with an unimpressive 11.8 percent strikeout rate in 68 plate appearances, per Baseball Savant. The Guardians also have the second-lowest strikeout rate (16.4 percent) in MLB to start the season.

Josiah Gray over 5.5 Ks (-120 FD)

Josiah Gray has been a boom-or-bust pitcher throughout his career. He gives up a ton of walks and hard-hit balls, but he can also rack up strikeouts in a hurry if his stuff is on. We saw a great example of this in his first start of the season when Gray gave up seven earned runs and two homers but struck out six batters in four innings of work.

The good news for the over is that current Pittsburgh Pirates hitters are batting just .182 against Gray in 36 plate appearances. Pittsburgh also has a 25.1 percent strikeout rate this season, so Gray should clear this number if he can get through four or five innings.
