Report: Yankees 'shopping' two-time All-Star OF Joey Gallo

With the Wednesday night acquisition of 2022 All-Star outfielder Andrew Benintendi, Joey Gallo's days with the New York Yankees could be numbered. The 28-year-old is enduring arguably his worst MLB season thus far and fans in the Bronx have grown frustrated with the power-hitting, strikeout-prone left-handed batter.

According to Jon Heyman of the MLB Network and New York Post, the Yankees may be looking to move Gallo ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline, but are having issues finding a suitor.

The two-time All-Star currently has a career-worst .161/.285/.343 slash line and struck out a whopping 103 times in 230 at-bats over 80 games. Gallo -- who will be a free agent after the season -- has hit 12 home runs but collected only 24 RBIs.

With Benintendi joining the likes of AL MVP candidate Aaron Judge, as well as Aaron Hicks in the New York outfield, Gallo may find himself as the odd man out. With fellow outfielder masher Giancarlo Stanton recently hitting the injured list however, the Yankees could elect to hang onto Gallo -- despite his struggles -- depending on Stanton's prognosis.
