Tyler Anderson's 2023 Season is Over

Anderson has been bothered by left knee soreness in recent days, forcing the Halos to already push a start back once this weekend. The hope entering play on Saturday was that the left-hander would be able to take down the start tomorrow morning against the Twins but after a bit of a setback, that plan is no more.

“Felt pretty good yesterday and then just didn’t really respond,” Anderson said. “Didn’t bounce back very well today. If I felt better today than yesterday, I was definitely going to start tomorrow. That was my plan but just kind of regressed.”

Signed to a three year deal last winter, Anderson ends a disappointing first season with the Angels having gone 6-6 with a 5.43 ERA in 27 games (25 starts). Coming off a career year with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2022, the Halos hoped the veteran could build off his NL All-Star season. He's owed $26 million over the next two seasons.
