'Big' John McCarthy, Chael Sonnen, & Brendan Schaub Weigh In On Dillon Danis Being Sued Ahead Of Logan Paul Fight
Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

Dillon Danis would arguably make the Mount Rushmore of staying relevant despite not actually being active in his fight career.

His fight with Logan Paul this weekend has been one of the most talked about match-ups of late, even after fans and fellow fighters were ready to completely dismiss any chance of him showing up to fight earlier this year.

Having pulled out of his fight with KSI in January, Danis has been able to use this as a narrative in the lead-up to his return...as well as one other controversial topic.

In what started as the odd post criticizing Paul's fiancée Nina Agdal for her previous relationships, Danis quickly started flooding social media with images of Agdal that have led to her suing him.

Already granted a temporary restraining order, Agdal is also suing him for defamation.

This has become another huge talking point for the fight with the match-up now becoming personal between the two men and opening up the discussion of whether legal action was the right choice.

The MMA World Reacts To The Danis vs. Agdal Legal Case

Everyone from the world of combat sports has been weighing in with their thoughts on whether Danis deserves to face legal action for taking it too far or whether Paul should have chosen to settle the score in the ring.

Whilst Ariel Helwani pointed out in his in-person interview with Danis on The MMA Hour that it isn't Paul who is suing, Brendan Schaub believes that Paul should have let his actions do the talking on Saturday night.

"The first rule of fight club is we don't sue each other. Outside of this, let's say they weren't fighting and Dillon was doing this, okay now I see defamation. He's going after your girl, your fiancée, that makes sense. As soon as you sign the contract to fight, you make him pay with your fist. Not with your lawyers, not through your money, with your fist. That's why you're fighting."

Chael Sonnen reposted Schaub's video on X, reiterating his point by adding the words "Simple as that."

Veteran referee turned Bellator commentator "Big" John McCarthy also agreed with Schaub's stance on the matter, posting his thoughts on the matter.

"True words spoken by @BrendanSchaub Fighters don’t sue Fighters because of words spoken or pictures posted. Beating his ass will prove everything he did was weak and you get to do it all while getting paid"

After one fan came back at McCarthy, criticizing him for his viewpoint, the iconic official clarified his take on the matter:

"No Devin, for years I have said that the best part of being a fighter is that no matter what your opponent says, the date will come when you legally get to punch them I. The mouth and eat everything they said about you or yours. It’s always been my belief. Sueing people is done by those that either cannot stand up and physically fight their opponent or have no one to do it for them."
