Brendan Schaub is offering some guidance to Israel Adesanya following UFC 293.

On September 9, Adesanya went into his UFC middleweight title defense against Sean Strickland as the heavy betting favorite. By the end of the event, fans were left stunned after Strickland schooled Adesanya for four of the five rounds. It was a career-defining moment for Strickland's Octagon work, as he demonstrated stellar forward pressure throughout the fight.

Stirckland emerged victorious via unanimous decision, winning UFC gold in the process. Many are now left to wonder what's next for Adesanya. Some are convinced "The Last Stylebender" will get an immediate rematch, while others aren't so sure.

Taking to "The Schaub Show," Brendan Schaub advised Israel Adesanya to give himself time to take a breather.

"When it's just a complete shutout, I don't like the rematches," Schaub said. "It would've been better if Izzy got knocked out in the first second of that fight in order to get a rematch. That being said, I also think Izzy needs a break. I think he's way too active at the level he's fighting at. I think he puts too much emphasis on social media. I think he's too worried about what people say. I think he needs to step back, recuperate, let the division do its thing, get some more contenders in there 'cause you beat everybody. Let Sean Strickland get his shine. Let's say Sean Strickland builds himself up even more, whoever they decide to throw him next, and then throw him back in. Slow down, all good."

Schaub went on to say that Adesanya is still "one of the best to ever do it." He also scolded fair-weather fans who are already dismissing Adesanya's resume.
