'He's Too Slow' - Eddie Alvarez Predicts Violent Win Over Mike Perry In BKFC Headliner
Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports

Former UFC and Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez appears to be very confident ahead of his bare-knuckle showdown with Mike Perry.

Back at BKFC 41, "The Underground King" picked up a tough split-decision win over Chad Mendes in his bare-knuckle debut. Next, the 155-pound great will get thrown into the deep end when he takes on "Platinum," arguably the BKFC's biggest success story.

Since joining the promotion back in 2021, Perry has gone undefeated, including wins over high-profile MMA names such as Michael "Venom" Page and Luke Rockhold.

Next month at BKFC 56, the pair will lock horns. According to Alvarez, Perry will be at a disadvantage due to the athletic flaws in his performances.

'The Ref's Gonna Stop Him From Fighting' - Alvarez On Upcoming Perry Fight

During a recent interview with MiddleEasy, Eddie Alvarez shared his thoughts on "Platinum" as a fighter. "The Underground King" acknowledged that what Perry might lack in technical skill he makes up for in toughness.

"Mike's tough as hell, you know, he makes up for hi s- lack that he got, like a lot of people said, 'Mike don't move his head, Mike don't do this.' He makes up for a lot of the lack of his stuff with his toughness," Alvarez said. "But when you're going against another fighter like myself, who has all that... then you're gonna have to rely on your skill and your game plan, and something more than just grit and will."

Regardless of Perry's intensity and determination, though, Alvarez believes his own speed and skill will simply prove to be too much for him.

"He's too slow, I'm gonna hit him too much," Alvarez asserted. "I respect Mike Perry and what he does... I'm gonna hit him too much, too often, too hard. If he don't stop fighting, I think the ref's gonna stop him from fighting."
