Boston Celtics Reportedly Signing Former Syracuse Star
USA TODAY Sports

Oshae Brissett went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft, but he was a solid player during his two seasons at Syracuse playing for Jim Boeheim.

After spending his rookie season with the Toronto Raptors, Brissett played the last three years for the Indiana Pacers.

On Friday evening, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Brissett would sign with the Boston Celtics.

Via Wojnarowski: "Free agent forward Oshae Brissett has agreed to a two-year deal with the Boston Celtics, his agent Mike George of  @OneLegacySports tells ESPN. Player option on the second year."

This past year, the 25-year-old averaged 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest in 65 regular season games.

Despite being in rebuilding mode, the Pacers had a good first half of the season and were a competitive team for most of the 2022-23 season.

Brissett's career averages are 7.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest while shooting 41.2% from the field in 172 regular season games.

The Celtics are among the elite teams in the NBA and coming off a year where they were the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 57-25 record.

They defeated the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers in the first two rounds of the NBA Playoffs but lost to Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The franchise has been to the Eastern Conference Finals five times (and NBA Finals once) over the past seven seasons, but they have yet to win a title since the 2008 season.
