DeMarcus Cousins lauds Mark Cuban for helping Delonte West

Mark Cuban shared an encouraging update on Delonte West's rehab on Friday, and four-time All-Star DeMarcus Cousins lauded the Dallas Mavericks owner for helping West recover from substance abuse problems.

On top of substance abuse issues, West has been dealing with bipolar disorder, depression and homelessness. When a video of him begging for money on the streets of Dallas went viral, Cuban stepped in to help West reunite with his family and receive treatment for his issues.

Cuban is paying for West's rehab in full in order to help get his life back on the rails.

West played his final season in the NBA with the Mavericks in 2011-12 before playing in the G League and Chinese Basketball Association, where he ultimately decided to call it quits in 2015. When he retired, West's mental health struggles and substance abuse issues took a turn for the worst. People around the NBA tried to help him, but he refused to take them up on it.
