Los Angeles Clippers Reportedly Signing New Player
USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Clippers have had a good season and went into the All-Star break as the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 33-28 record in 61 games.

On Tuesday, the team announced that they had waived Nate Darling from his two-way contract.

Just a few hours later, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the team was signing Keaton Wallace to their open two-way contract spot.

Via Wojnarowski: "The Clippers are signing guard Keaton Wallace to a two-way contract, sources tell ESPN. He's playing for the franchise's G League franchise in Ontario."

Wallace is having a good season in the G League with averages of 14.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.7 steals per contest in 18 regular season games.

He also played in 19 Showcase Cup games and had averages of 12.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest.

The 23-year-old went undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft and also spent last season in the G League.

For the Clippers, this is a good move because, on a two-way contract, there is virtually no risk.

The Clippers will play their next game on Friday night when they host the Sacramento Kings in Los Angles.

They are only one game back of the Kings for the third seed, so a victory moves them into a tie.

Last season, the Clippers dealt with injuries and missed the NBA Playoffs (after losing both of their play-in tournament games to the Minnesota Timberwolves and New Orleans Pelicans).
