Los Angeles Clippers Sign Former Charlotte Hornets Player
USA TODAY Sports

The NBA All-Star weekend is taking place, so teams will not play until next Thursday.

That said, roster moves around the league can still take place, and the Los Angeles Clippers announced the signing of a new player on Friday afternoon.

Via ClippersPR: "The LA Clippers have signed Ontario Clippers guard Nate Darling to a two-way contract.

Darling, 24, has appeared in 20 games with 10 starts for the Ontario Clippers this season, averaging 21.4 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 46.4% from the field."

Darling played in seven NBA games (with the Charlotte Hornets) during the 2020-21 season.

He did not play in the NBA during the 2021-22 season and has spent the last two years in the G League.

The 24-year-old went undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft, and played his college basketball for UAB and Delaware.

With the way he has played for the Ontario Clippers, it makes sense why the Clippers would want to give him a chance on a two-way contract.

The Clippers are currently the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 33-28 record in 61 games.

They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak and 6-4 in their last ten games.

Right now, the Clippers are only one game behind the Sacramento Kings for the third seed.

As long as they can stay healthy, they should end up with a top-six seed.

On Friday, the Clippers will play their next game when they host the Kings, which will give them an opportunity to move into a tie for the third seed.
