Former Florida Gators standout and NBA sharpshooter Chandler Parsons has announced his retirement.
Nine-year NBA veteran Chandler Parsons has retired from basketball and his lawsuit from career-ending injuries via car accident in January 2020 has been settled for a substantial amount.

Following four seasons with the University of Florida, Parsons was selected by the Houston Rockets in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft. In his first year, the forward averaged 9.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 28.6 minutes per game across 63 games (57 starts), while posting a .452/.337/.551 shooting line and was named second team All-Rookie.
Parsons spent the next two seasons in Houston as well, averaging career highs in points (16.6), rebounds (5.5), assists (4.0) and minutes per contest (37.6) in 74 games during the 2013-2014 campaign. The Casselberry, Fla., native signed with the Dallas Mavericks during the 2014 offseason and played the next two years there, posting 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in 127 contests with the club.
Parsons signed with the Memphis Grizzlies in July 2016 and played three seasons with the organization before being traded to the Atlanta Hawks in July 2019. In January 2020, the 33-year-old was hit by a drunk driver, suffered a concussion and whiplash.
Later that month, Parsons' attorney announced that the player's injuries could be career-ending. In February 2020, Parsons was waived by the Hawks after playing in just five games with the team.
