Another Panthers Linebacker Hits Injured Reserve

Tuesday morning, the Carolina Panthers placed linebacker Chandler Wooten on injured reserve as he nurses an ankle injury that he sustained during Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Wooten provided depth at linebacker but was one of Carolina's top special teamers, recording eight tackles in as many games.

Wooten joins fellow linebackers Yetur Gross-Matos, Justin Houston, Shaq Thompson, and Claudin Cherelus on IR alongside CB Jaycee Horn, DE Henry Anderson, S Jeremy Chinn, TE Ian Thomas, TE Giovanni Ricci, and OL Brady Christensen.

The Panthers made the signing of linebacker Blake Martinez to the practice squad official while signing tight end Jordan Matthews to the 53-man roster. They also bring back a familiar face in linebacker Ace Eley to the practice squad. Eley spent training camp and the preseason with Carolina.
