Antonio Brown Makes Awkward Pitch To Reunite With Steelers

Antonio Brown may want to reunite with his ex.

The former NFL wide receiver has taken to social media to hint that Pittsburgh Steelers should consider bringing him back to bolster their aerial attack, which ranks just 18th in the NFL after two weeks.

First, Brown posted “Heard the Steelers need a WR…….” followed by him posting a photo of himself in a Steelers uniform captioned, “Hear Me Out…….”

Brown was last seen tearing off his uniform and parading down the New York Jets’ sideline as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021. The incident resulted in the Buccaneers parting ways with the star wide out. He has not played in the league since.

The 35-year-old is most known for his time in Pittsburgh, where he spent nine seasons and stamped his name among the best receivers in the NFL.

Brown, who played his collegiate football at Central Michigan, was originally selected by the Steelers in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

After playing only sparingly during his rookie campaign, Brown broke out in his sophomore season, catching 69 passes for 1,108 yards and two touchdowns en route to his first of eight consecutive trips to the Pro Bowl.

Brown, who also earned four straight First-Team All-Pro selections between 2014 and 2018, ranks second in Steelers history in receiving yards. Only Hines Ward, who spent his entire 14-year NFL career in Pittsburgh, places higher than Brown in that category.

Eventually, Antonio Brown’s off-the-field antics became too much for the Steelers to manage, and they shipped him to the Oakland Raiders in March 2019. However, Brown did not play a single game for the Raiders before being released. He played one game with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in 2019 before being released yet again. Eventually, Brown hooked back up with Brady in Tampa Bay, winning a Super Bowl the following year.
