Chargers Rookie Admits He's Still Scared to Talk to Pro Bowl Teammates
USA TODAY Sports

Your Los Angeles Chargers are among the most talented teams in the NFL, and even though their record doesn't reflect it, it's the truth. Both sides of the ball are filled with stars, and LA may have found itself a new one in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

That would be former USC edge rusher Tuli Tuipulotu. Tuipulotu is the youngest player on the active roster, and because of that, he is also the most timid person on the team. While speaking to Chargers insider Elliott Teaford from The Orange County Register, he admitted he is still scared to talk to their leader and QB1 Justin Herbert.

“I’m still kind of scared to talk to Justin. I don’t know. It’s just ‘J-Herbo.’ I’m weird like that. It took me a while to talk to ‘K’ and Joey. I’m just weird.”

(Per Elliott Teaford of The Orange County Register)

The 25-year-old Herbert may be fairly camera-shy and seems like one of the more low-key people in the league. But, still, Herbert is a star in this league, and at the end of the day, I can't blame the 21-year-old rookie.

It's great that he is getting a bit more comfortable with his teammates, especially on his side of the ball. Tuli referred to his other star defensive teammates, Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack, as "Joey B" or Joey Beeskie" and Mack as "K-Mack" or "K."

The camaraderie and togetherness comes throughout the season, and it's great to see the rookie build that rapport with his star defensive teammates. Give it time; I'm sure Hebert and Tuli will be the best of buds soon.
