Memo to Jerry Jones: Stop making much ado about nothing.
Following Sunday's 54-19 thrashing of the Colts, the Cowboys owner said he would have been much more lenient on running back Ezekiel Elliott, who did not start because of a small disciplinary infraction.
"There was a little issue he had [of a] phone going off (in a team meeting). I'd be a lot more lenient than that," Jones said.
At his news conference Monday, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy made light of Jones' remark after a Dallas staffer's phone rang. Asked if he would bench the individual, the coach said, "I would be more lenient."

Jones worries about Elliott feeling like he received a demotion. But the three-time Pro Bowler understands Pollard has become an integral offensive component.
"I truly believe our team is better off when (Pollard) is getting his touches," Elliott told NBC Sports recently.
The Cowboys are better off. They're sixth in rushing yards per game (145.9). Pollard and Elliott have become a dynamic duo, scoring eight rushing touchdowns, tied for eighth in the league.

So ease off, Jerry, and let the good times roll with Pollard and Elliott.
