According to his agent, Alex Essex, the Falcons have agreed to terms with TE Charlie Woerner. A three-year deal worth $12 million.@ZachKleinWSB first reported Atlanta's interest.— Michael Rothstein (@mikerothstein) March 11, 2024
San Francisco selected Woerner (6-5, 241) out of Georgia in the sixth round (No. 190 overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. According to Pro Football Reference, he recorded three receptions for 32 yards in 17 game appearances (two starts) this past season. The tight end landed on injured reserve on January 6 due to a high-ankle sprain.
Woerner, 26, has caught 11 passes for 120 yards in 65 game appearances (seven starts) over his four NFL seasons.
Per Charlie Woerner's agent, Alex Essex, eight teams were interested in Woerner with six making offers. Falcons' three-year, $12M may not have been the high bid. Woerner was swayed by opportunity to play in his native Georgia.— Matt Barrows (@mattbarrows) March 11, 2024
