Former QB exposes NFC East team following latest blockbuster trade

Former QB and ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III believes actions speak louder than words.

There are several teams every year that state they're going "all in" to win a Super Bowl, but only a portion of those teams do what it takes in the offseason to be a true contender.

Griffin III thinks that the Houston Texans' latest blockbuster trade for Bills four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs proves they can contend for a Super Bowl next season. He also shared his thoughts on a team that has done nothing to support its all in claim.

"The Houston Texans are making the moves the Dallas Cowboys should have if they were really ALL IN," Griffin III posted on platform X.

Why Griffin III felt the need to expose the Cowboys following the Texans' big day is unknown, but he isn't incorrect in his beliefs.

Dallas has had arguably the worst offseason in the league but continues to believe it will contend for a Super Bowl next season. In fact, the team hasn't even been to a conference championship since the 1995 season. 

So, why would that change after losing more key players over the past few months?

In fairness, the Cowboys have been salary cap strapped for most of the offseason, but teams have proven to be able to find a way to add more talent by manipulating the cap.

Instead, Dallas watched key players such as RB Tony Pollard (Titans), LT Tyron Smith (Jets), C Tyler Biadasz (Commanders) and DE Dorance Armstrong (Commanders) leave in free agency while only signing LB Eric Kendricks and re-signing RB Rico Dowdle and CB Jourdan Lewis.

Wide receiver Michael Gallup, who the Cowboys released last month, and cornerback Stephon Gilmore are also still free agents.

There 2024 NFL Draft represents a chance for teams with less money to fill out their rosters, but Dallas isn't scheduled to make its first selection until pick No. 24.

Although Super Bowls are not won this time of year, championship rosters are being built and Griffin III clearly believes the Cowboys are falling behind after a successful day in Houston.
