Glazer: 49ers QB Brock Purdy is a 'winner' and a 'terror' in the second half
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer believes San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy could be a difference-maker in Super Bowl 58 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite ongoing criticism aimed at Purdy's abilities, Glazer asserts that the 24-year-old signal-caller is a proven winner in the league.

"Let's stop talking about Brock Purdy with what kind of quarterback he is," Glazer told NBC Sports Bay Area's Laura Britt. "He's a winner. Stop with the game manager [comments]. He's a winner, okay? And now we've learned, too, [in the] second half [of games], he's a terror. So you may think you got him roped in in the first half, and you don't. So he is way more than what everybody's saying that he is."

Purdy enjoyed a standout second NFL season, racking up 4,280 passing yards with 31 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions. Notably, he broke the franchise record for most passing yards in a single season while leading the league with an impressive 113.0 passer rating, 9.6 yards per attempt, and 13.9 yards per catch.

Looking ahead to the Super Bowl showdown on Sunday, Glazer highlighted one key aspect of the 49ers that could pose a significant challenge for the Chiefs.

"Just physicality," Glazer declared. "These guys, it's a street fight. ... So they're a really physical team with a quarterback who is absolutely unflappable."

The 49ers hope that is enough to emerge as Super Bowl champions. They will face the Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. PT. CBS will broadcast the game.
