NFL Week 5 betting guide: Monday Night matchup sure to deliver

From a morning game in London to a projected shootout on Monday Night Football, NFL Week 5 should be a treat. Let's dive into each game on the schedule.

Monday Night Football
Las Vegas Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs

Spread: Kansas City -7

Total: 51 points

Kansas City dominated Las Vegas last season, winning by an average score of 33 points. While both teams have seen some changes to their pass-catching group, the Chiefs still look to be one of the NFL's best teams. We have to bet Kansas City covering here, the Raiders are just 1-3 on the season and should have issues keeping up.

Betting: Chiefs -7

New York Giants vs. Green Bay Packers

Spread: Green Bay -7.5

Total: 41 points

The London game this week offers more value than might meet the eye. The Giants have shown little to no faith in Daniel Jones throwing the football, and the rash of injuries to the wide receiver position is a big reason why. The Packers are allowing 5.0 yards per rush this season, and Saquon Barkley is fresh off a 31-carry outing. Both Patriots running backs went over last week, and Barkley is over his rushing yards line in three of four this season.

Betting: Saquon Barkley over 79.5 rushing yards (-110 DK)

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Buffalo Bills

Spread: Buffalo -14

Total: 45.5 points

The biggest spread the Steelers have even faced, oddsmakers aren't giving much respect to this Pittsburgh team with rookie Kenny Pickett making his first career start. Buffalo's offense hasn't shown the juice we're used to seeing the past two weeks, and the Steelers had issues moving the football against the Jets. We'd recommend the under here in Buffalo.

Betting: Under 45.5 points

Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Spread: Tampa Bay -10

Total: 46 points

Atlanta is 4-0 ATS and worth a note here, but we'd like to focus our betting attention elsewhere. Each week, the Falcons seem to allow wide receivers to find the end zone. With a full group back in the Buccaneers wide receiver room, we'll turn to Tom Brady's favorite target finding the end zone.

Betting: Mike Evans TD (-105 DK)

Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets

Spread: Miami -3

Total: 46 points

We remain excited about Zach Wilson's potential with the young weapons on this Jets offense. With Teddy Bridgewater at the helm for Miami, the Dolphins' explosiveness may not be on full display. We're betting on Wilson covering the spread once again, this time at home.

Betting: Jets +3

Los Angeles Chargers @ Cleveland Browns

Spread: Los Angeles -2

Total: 47.5 points

Sure, the Chargers have not looked their sharpest this season, but they're still 3-1 ATS. This Browns secondary has leaks, and Justin Herbert is sure to pick them apart even if Keenan Allen can't go again. Cleveland could match the scoring, considering the Chargers are allowing the second-most yards per rush. So much of the Browns success comes from Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. This feels like a good option for plenty of points.

Betting: Over 47.5 points

Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings

Spread: Minnesota -7.5

Total: 44 points

Three straight starting running backs have gone over their rushing yards total against the Bears, and it's Dalvin Cook's turn to capitalize. Cook has loved the Bears the past two years, averaging 99 yards per game on the ground and going over this Sunday's line each time.

Betting: Dalvin Cook over 78.5 rushing yards (-110 DK)

Detroit Lions @ New England Patriots

Spread: New England -3.5

Total: 45.5 points

The Lions have the highest-scoring offense and a defense allowing the most points per game. It may go without saying, but that's been a recipe for overs: Detroit is 4-0 to the over this season. It looks like it will be Bailey Zappe at quarterback for New England this week, and the rookie QB did lead this Patriots offense to 24 points against a stout Packers defense. He could have more success this week against an ideal first opponent. We'll gladly take the points in what could be a fun one Sunday.

Betting: Over 45.5 points

Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Spread: Jacksonville -7

Total: 43.5 points

We're still waiting for Travis Etienne's first NFL touchdown, and this weekend feels like the right time to jump on the wagon. Houston has allowed the second-most touchdowns to running backs this year after allowing the third-most a season ago. We're betting on the Jaguars RB finding the end zone, working towards a near even-split for James Robinson.

Betting: Travis Etienne TD (+180 FD)

Tennessee Titans @ Washington Commanders

Spread: Tennessee -1.5

Total: 43 points

Let's get fun with this one. Both Tennessee and Washington have allowed a lot of touchdowns to wide receivers this season. Their pass defenses have been each team's biggest liabilities. Why not go for a tantalizing payout and bet on each team's top receivers finding the end zone?

Betting: Robert Woods & Terry McLaurin TDs (+713 FD)

Seattle Seahawks @ New Orleans Saints

Spread: New Orleans -5.5

Total: 46 points

The Saints are 1-3 ATS this season and look to be without Jameis Winston and Michael Thomas again this weekend. This spread feels a bit rich for our blood: Seattle has shown to be competitive this season. We'll back Geno Smith and a Seahawks offense that has scored 71 points over the past two weeks.

Betting: Seahawks +5.5

San Francisco 49ers @ Carolina Panthers

Spread: San Francisco -6.5

Total: 39 points

10 of the last 11 quarterbacks to face off against San Francisco have gone under their passing yards total. Now it's Baker Mayfield's turn, and it's not looking good for the quarterback who is seemingly on the hot seat in Carolina. Mayfield is under this number in two of four this season, and this is by far the best defense he's seen.

Betting: Baker Mayfield under 194.5 passing yards (-115 DK)

Philadelphia Eagles @ Arizona Cardinals

Spread: Philadelphia -5.5

Total: 48.5 points

There's every reason to think Philadelphia can continue their dominant ways. They have an advantage with their receivers over a porous Arizona secondary and the Cardinals defensive line shouldn't be able to do much of anything against the Eagles elite offensive line. Philly is 4-0 and 3-1 ATS, we're backing them here, even on the road.

Betting: Eagles -5.5

Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Rams

Spread: Los Angeles -5.5

Total: 43 points

Success in the NFL starts in the trenches. The Cowboys have it with the second-most sacks this year from their defense, while the Rams don't (16 sacks allowed, 2nd most). This spread feels off to us, this Rams team has not looked good.

Betting: Cowboys +5.5

Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens

Spread: Baltimore -3.5

Total: 47.5 points

In two meetings last season, Cincinnati and Baltimore racked up totals of 58 and 62 points. Both teams have talented quarterbacks who like to sling it deep and secondaries that have been gashed by the long ball. It's a perfect recipe for points.

Betting: Over 47.5 points
