The Green Bay Packers have a few things to figure out when it comes to their cornerback room and according to The Athletic 's Matt Schneidman, former first-rounder, C.J. Henderson, is a name to keep an eye on.
Keep an eye on corner C.J. Henderson for the Packers in free agency. He was the No. 9 overall pick in 2020. The 25-year-old spent two seasons with Jacksonville and the last three with Carolina. Packers need more CB depth.

Henderson hasn't even come close to living up to his first-round billing and in reality, he's not that great of a player, either. He only allowed one touchdown in 2023, but that came off a career-low 198 coverage snaps. Before that, he allowed 12 touchdowns over the course of the previous three seasons, including a career-high five in 2022, per Pro Football Focus. For his career, he's allowed 13 passing touchdowns and has just three interceptions in four total seasons. Opposing quarterbacks have averaged a 113.9 rating, since 2020, when throwing his way.
Again, the idea of Henderson is for depth purposes, but with Jaire Alexander's health issues over the last couple of seasons, Carrington Valentine's promising yet still uncertain future, and Keisean Nixon's upcoming free agency experience - there's certainly a world in which the Packers could be relying on Henderson for a good chunk of snaps. Ultimately, that would not be ideal and even depth signings need to be made wisely.
You never want to outright dismiss ideas, but this is one -and it's not Schneidman's idea, it's obviously something he's hearing- that the Packers need to avoid, no matter the context.
