Packers 'working extremely hard' to find trade ahead of deadline

The Green Bay Packers sit at 7-1 and have won seven straight games, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers might be a couple of months away from holding onto his Most Valuable Player award for at least another year.

Green Bay beat the Arizona Cardinals last Thursday and, thus, has some extra rest ahead of this coming Sunday's game at the Kansas City Chiefs, but head coach Matt LaFleur suggested Monday that his team, specifically general manager Brian Gutekunst, could be quite busy ahead of the Tuesday afternoon trade deadline.

"If the right opportunity presents itself, I think that’s something that we could be involved with," LaFleur explained, per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. "I know Gutey and his staff are working extremely hard at trying to find something. It’s just whether or not the right opportunity exists."

It's unclear exactly what Gutekunst is seeking fewer than 24 hours before the deadline, which arrives at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday.
