Packers' Watson matches Moss in achieving this feat

While the Green Bay Packers have been struggling this season, a bright spot has been the emergence of Christian Watson

The Packers traded two second-round picks to move up and take Watson 34th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. However, Watson missed training camp and the preseason as he recovered from a knee procedure.

Unfortunately, Watson’s season got off to a slow start. He infamously dropped an easy touchdown in Week 1 versus the Vikings and did not get consistent looks from Aaron Rodgers after that.

Additionally, a concussion and other injuries limited his playing time. Over the last four weeks, though, Watson has emerged as one of the most exciting players on the team.

In fact, he just joined Randy Moss as the only rookie wide receivers ever to score eight touchdowns in a four game span.

On Sunday against the Chicago Bears, Watson logged three receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown. He also ran 46 yards for another touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

The touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave Watson his second touchdown on the day. He now has scored eight times in the last four games:

  • vs. Dallas: three touchdowns
  • vs. Tennessee: two touchdowns
  • at Philadelphia: one touchdown
  • at Chicago: two touchdowns

During his own rookie campaign, Moss scored 11 touchdowns over the Vikings’ last seven games to give him a NFL-leading 17 on the season. He began his incredible run with eight touchdowns scored in four games late in the 1998 season:

  • 11/14 vs Cincinnati: one touchdown
  • 11/21 vs Packers: one touchdown (Vikings won 28-14, in case you were wondering)
  • 11/25 at Dallas: three touchdowns
  • 12/5 vs Chicago: three touchdowns

Look, no one is saying that Watson is going to be the next Moss. However, I am saying that he has incredible potential and could be a very special player for the Packers if he keeps this up.
