Report: Jaguars To Hire Former Bills Assistant Chad Hall As Receivers Coach

Hall will replace former wide receivers coach Chris Jackson on Doug Pederson's staff. Jackson led the Jaguars' wide receivers to a productive year, with Zay Jones and Christian Kirk each having career seasons on the Jaguars' top-10 offense. 

Jackson left Jacksonville's staff shortly after their playoff exit, joining the University of Texas as wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator.

Hall was the Moutain West Conference Player of the Year for Air Force in 2007. He went undrafted in 2008 and didn't get his first shot in the NFL until the Philadelphia Eagles signed him in 2010. The Eagles were led by Andy Reid and had Pederson on staff as an offensive assistant.

Hall spent three years with the Eagles and then followed Pederson and Reid to Kansas City in 2013. He spent a brief period with the Jaguars in 2014 before returning to the NFL in 2017 as an offensive assistant with the Buffalo Bills. 

Hall was promoted to wide receivers coach in 2019 after spending two seasons as an assistant with the receivers and running Buffalo's scout team. 

Under Hall, the Bills saw John Brown (2019) and Stefon Diggs (2020, 2021, 2022) all record 1,000-yard seasons. Brown, Diggs, and Cole Beasley all had career years under Hall, who also oversaw the development of Isaiah McKenzie and Gabriel Davis. 

Hall also interviewed with the Baltimore Ravens earlier this offseason for their offensive coordinator position. 

Hall will now be tasked with seeing Kirk and Jones pick up where they left off in 2022, as well as helping integrate Calvin Ridley into the offense after the Jaguars dealt for him at last year's deadline.

Jones (82), Kirk (84) and tight end Evan Engram (73) each caught 70-plus passes this season. The Jaguars were one of only two teams in the NFL to have three players with 70-or-more receptions in a season. 2022 marked the first time in franchise history that three players had 70+ receptions in a season. 

Kirk set new career highs or surpassed several career and single-season milestones last year, with his 1,108 receiving yards, 84 receptions and 8 touchdowns all being single-season career highs.
