There’s arguably no defender quarterbacks want to see barreling toward them less than Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.
During the second quarter of Sunday’s season opener against the Seattle Seahawks, Donald evoked an amusing response from Seahawks QB Geno Smith as the nine-time Pro Bowler bull-rushed his way through Seattle’s offensive line and nearly sacked Smith on a third-and-4.

Smith’s response was more than justified. After all, Donald is 6-foot-1, 280 pounds, a seven-time First Team All-Pro and a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year with 103 sacks in 138 career games.
Sunday’s loss was the first time Smith got up close and personal with Donald for an entire game (he previously played against him twice, coming on in relief role late in the game). Donald did eventually get to Smith, finishing with four tackles, a half sack and a quarterback hit.
Smith was sacked twice in the contest, with Donald, defensive tackle Kobe Turner and linebackers Byron Young and Michael Hoecht collecting half a sack each.

Fortunately for Smith, he got rid of the ball on the play before Donald reached him and the Seahawks got a 36-yard Jason Myers field goal out of the drive which gave them a 13-7 halftime lead.
However, the Rams got the 30-13 win and snapped a two-game losing streak against their NFC West rivals.
