Watch: Inexplicable penalty gives Broncos second chance to beat Bills on 'MNF'

By all accounts, the Buffalo Bills should have escaped "Monday Night Football" with a 22-21 win over the Denver Broncos.

With seconds left on the clock, Denver kicker Wil Lutz and his unit trotted out onto the field to try a field goal attempt with the clock running. Lutz missed and it looked to seal a Buffalo win, but flags were down on the field.

Buffalo had 12 men out on the field on defense, courtesy of the Broncos' quick change, which gave Denver a second chance, five yards closer.

Lutz didn't miss this time, banging in a 36-yarder to give Denver a 24-22 win in shocking fashion.

It looked like this:

That has to be one of the most heartbreaking losses ever on "Monday Night Football", at least from the perspective of the Bills.

This was "supposed to be" a "get right" game for the Bills after losing two of their last three. Not only did they lose to what is generally considered to be a bad Denver team — falling to 5-5 in the process — but the Bills didn't look good at all.

That botched field goal block was the "lowlight" of a night that saw quarterback Josh Allen throw two interceptions and lose the ball via a fumble. Buffalo lost two fumbles on the night for four total turnovers.

Denver improves to 4-5 and is now riding a three-game win streak.
