Former King Brown to be Inducted Into U.S. Hockey HOF

Now officially a Los Angeles Kings and USA Hockey legend, Dustin Brown will be inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame on Dec. 6.

Brown, alongside Jamie Langenbrunner, headlines a group including longtime Executive Brian Burke, women’s star Katie King Crowley and official Brian Murphy.

Brown a Deserved Inductee:

It’s been a year filled with celebrations for Brown. He had his jersey retired and a statue revealed at Crypto.com Arena in February and will end the year with a Hall of Fame induction.

Brown’s career is littered with achievements at the NHL level. He finished his Kings career as the franchise leader in games played, sixth in goals and seventh in total points.

A Mark Messier leadership award in 2014 serves as his one piece of individual hardware.

Most importantly, Brown became the first King in franchise history to hoist the Stanley Cup in 2012. A feat he repeated in 2014.

This also made him just the second American captain to hoist the trophy. Of course, we all know his achievements with the Kings. The two Cups and 18 years of being an on and off-ice leader.

But he was also a big part of the USA setup during his career. Brown featured in four World Championships and two Olympic Games for his country. In that time, he served as team captain at one World Championship and was an alternate captain in the 2014 Olympics.

Brown also featured in two World Junior Championships for the US under-20 team.

He’s currently seventh amongst US players in NHL games played with 1,296 and 22nd in goals with 325.

Brown was one of the best American players in the late 2000s to early 2010s and is more than deserving of this honor.

Unlike his statue in front of Crypto.com arena, there won’t be many complaints about his induction here. Maybe some from San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Duck fans.
